Prior to describing the perfume in conversation here, to know the main families that belong to the Dixit & Zak fragrances is aptly due. Each family is a series, and are entitled as: ‘The Rising Series’, ‘The Emperor Series’ and ‘The Ghaliyah Series’. The Rising Series family is all about old school cologne and aftershave with sandalwood at its centre. The Emperor Series exhibits the Mukhallat style (a mix of essential oils and aroma ingredients). The Ghaliyah Series showcases fragrances of animalic notes. All other remaining fragrances are one off creations falling under no classic genre as such. Emperor’s Court is the new nectarous, opulent, and exquisite perfume launch by Dixit & Zak from the Emperor Series. It has a composite of Oud largely influencing and defining this fragrance: Assam Oud revealed in a transformed avatar owing to it being at its best sweet spot, and oleoresins making it more caramelized, Ouds of Laos, Cambodia and Thailand simmering slowly in the backdrop; all in all the Oud presence is elevated due to a musky outline, making the perfume ultimately very invigorating and umami. There's a slight indication of diesel note as the resinous 'fossil amber' and 'dark vanilla' turn it into something that is balsamic, sweet and leathery. The garland of refreshing floral whiff around sandalwood at the opening welcomes you with 'zesty bergamot' and a tinge of bitterness. Towards the dry down the essence of 'animalic tinctures' add mystique and magnetism to the whole experience. Inspired by the Mukhallat of Oud, the Emperor’s Court takes Oriental perfumery to its pinnacle.
