Beach Hut Man Amouage
Amouage released Beach Hut Man in 2017, composed by Elise Benat for men. The opening is cold and green: mint first, then the bitter sap of galbanum, with orange blossom taking the sharpest edge off without making the top sweet. As that thins out the scent turns leafy and shaded, ivy and moss giving it a damp, faintly bitter texture while vetiver runs underneath as a dry rooty line rather than a smoky one. What stays is drier still, woody notes and patchouli holding the shape and myrrh adding a cool resinous bitterness that keeps the green from softening into anything comfortable. The character is brisk and a little austere, nearer a shaded garden after rain than the beach its name suggests. It suits warm weather without direct heat, so late spring and early summer, daytime, outdoors, and the casual settings where a quiet green trail is enough.
