Burberry launched Weekend for Women in 1997, a creation by Nathalie Lorson. The opening is a fresh and green introduction, with the delicate, slightly sweet floral scent of mignonette complemented by the bright, juicy zest of mandarin orange, while sage adds a subtle herbaceous undertone. This fresh start quickly blossoms into a rich and varied floral-fruity heart. Nectarine and peach blossom contribute a soft, sweet fruitiness, surrounded by a bouquet of blue hyacinth, rose hip, and red cyclamen, which together form a lively, slightly dewy floral character. Iris and violet root introduce a gentle, powdery aspect that rounds out the mid-phase. The dry down settles into a soft, clean base of musk, supported by the smooth, creamy woodiness of sandalwood and the dry, pencil-shaving scent of cedar.
