The fragrance evokes the essence of Khaleeji hospitality at its most generous and refined. Composed by Catherine Jarno, Senior Perfumer at IFF, the perfume opens with a sumptuous Ajwa date accord. Fruity and buttery accents are illuminated by the brightness of grapefruit and the subtle chill of black pepper. In the heart, frankincense radiates with mineral clarity, while the rare Leatherwood lends dry, tactile nuances. These notes settle into a base where smoky, animalic oud rests upon the almond-like warmth of tonka bean. “I create to exalt what I can smell in nature, and to offer it to others,” explains Jarno, describing her philosophy of creation. “I take inspiration in what nature does best and use my analytical skills to craft accords that feel both authentic and innovative.” Bringing together the beloved richness of Ajwa dates with the rare sophistication of Leatherwood, A Date with Oud represents NISHANE’s first special edition for Al Tayer Group.
