Parfums de Marly released Althaïr in 2023, created by Hamid Merati-Kashani and Ilias Ermenidis for men. The opening is a warm and aromatic blend of cinnamon and cardamom, brightened by a touch of bergamot and the floral lift of orange blossom. This initial spice and citrus soon gives way to a creamy heart where bourbon vanilla takes prominence, softened by the resinous warmth of elemi. The scent settles into a rich and deep base, featuring the gourmand sweetness of praline and candied almond, supported by the woody facets of guaiac wood and the comforting warmth of tonka bean. Musk and ambroxan provide a soft, lingering trail with a powdery undertone. The overall impression is one of sweet, warm spice and vanilla, with a comforting, almost edible quality. It suits cooler weather, particularly autumn and winter evenings, and can be worn for both casual and more dressed-up occasions where a comforting, sweet presence is desired.
