Although the Italians have taken the fame, the cappuccino was actually invented by the Austrian – specifically Viennese – baristas in the 18th century. The term derived from the Latin "caputium" was changed to "Kapuziner" (small hood in German) – part of the dress worn by a branch of the Franciscan order and that had the same reddish brown color resulting from the mix of coffee and milk covered with a thin layer of foam and sparks of spices and chocolate powder. Tonkaccino is an olfactory interpretation of the traditional hot beverage that brings the full-bodied note of patchouli as well as a soft lavender-tonka accord to convey the same comfort of an elegant hood that protects us against the cold and wind on a cold night.
